Custom Wordpress.com is owned and operated by me Kenneth Vowels.  I too am blogger.  I started my first blog on blogger.com and grew from there.  Eventually, I outgrew the blogspot domain and looked around for other blogging solutions.  That is when I came across Wordpress.  It is a easy to use publishing platform that gets the job done.  If you want stability, ease of use, and long term growth I highly recommend you give it a try.
